The final day ceremony was preceded by Poonkavanam or Eternal Bliss ceremony on 9th and Theertham or Water Cutting on 8th September.

The 7th September which was marked by the Ratham or Car Festival was the climax of the whole festival attended by a large crowd of devotees reciting Haro Haraa with great piety.

Security Forces Headquarters-Jaffna (SF-J) which provided security and other essential services including medical and water supply to the festival throughout on guidance of Commander SF-J Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe distributed about 10,000 packets of vegetarian rice to devotees gathered at the Kovil to attend the car festival on 7th. Commander and senior officers of the SF-J joined to distribute meals on that occasion.

Annual Nallur, the biggest religious event in the Jaffna peninsula commenced this year on 15th August.
