[Updated :: 2010-09-20 12:21:51 Hours]

A rare occasion that brought two generations of music lovers into one audience occurred Saturday (18.09.2010) night when “Mega Musical Night” was organized by Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) with coordination of Security Forces Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) at Duraiappa Stadium.

This musical extravaganza organized by “Thendral FM” of the SLBC presented a range of popular Tamil and Sinhalese songs for the entertainment of thousands of Jaffna music lovers, young and old, during the night.

Special feature to rejoice the crowd was that Mr. T.M. Balraj, son of veteran South Indian vocalist Mr. T.M. Soundrarajan was present on the stage to perform old hits of his father which were cheerfully received by the cosmopolitan audience alike.

The “Mega Musical Night” went on for hours as younger crowds shared the thrilling moment dancing and singing chorus together with south Indian singers and local “Super Stars” who sang to the tune of Prabha’s “Sruthi” group.

Senior officers of the Army and SLBC Colombo joined the Jaffna music fans in the audience.
