hereafter see their dreams become true with opening of the new “Thalsewana
Holiday Resort” on Saturday (02.10.2010)..
of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya at invitation of
the Commander Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Mahinda
Hathurusinghe unveiled the plaque amidst sounds of Magul Bera (ceremonial
drum) to mark the opening of the “Thalsewana”.
the plaque was followed by planting of two Palmyra saplings by Commander
of the Army and Commander SF-J on either side of the entrance. Then
Commander of the Army accompanied by a galaxy of senior officers
cut the ribbon and entered the main parlour of the resort.
magnificent two-storied bungalow emerged in the same site of the
former “Thalsevana” with many modifications such as Air Conditioned
and Non Air Conditioned spacious rooms, balcony with panoramic sea
view, restaurant and bar facilities. This wonder of architecture
is also the outcome of invaluable labour of many soldiers, especially
Commanding Officer of 5th Engineer Services Regiment Major Thushara
Silva and his men.
