A team of doctors and nurses attended to medical requirements of approximately seven hundred civilians in and around Chavakachcheri, who are unable to afford necessary medical attention when the 52 Division of Varani organized a medical camp at Chavakachcheri Hindu College on 27th November.

This one day medical camp including clinics for eye, dental and physical care brought a great relief to people whose mental and physical health were badly affected by the recent conflict situation.

With coordination of the 52 Division commanded by Brigadier Anura Sudhasinghe, Commander 522 Brigade Colonel Hemantha Bandara with his Civil Affairs Officers was successful in getting the support of Colombo Rotary Club to arrange this mobile medical service.

Twelve doctors and some medical staff members from hospitals in Jaffna spent their valuable time at the request of the Army to diagnose and treat the needy people who arrived in the venue for different medical requirements.

Senior officials of the Colombo Rotary Club, General Officer Commanding 52 Division, Commander 522 Brigade and staff members of the Hindu College were also present.
