Jaffna people in their thousands took to streets on Tuesday (07.12.2010) to condemn the protest organized by pro LTTE elements in London to oppose the arrival of His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa in London last week.

Members of the Tamil, Muslim and Sinihalese communities showed their allegiance to the President, who brought an end to their misery caused by the thirty year long war in the country, holding banners and posters denouncing the course of LTTE sympathizers in the Europe. Many of them were seen carrying National Flags and President’s photos.

Men and women while marching along city streets uttered slogans against LTTE remnants haunting from different foreign bases and expressed their support to the President in his effort to make the country a peaceful land sans divisions and to elevate the motherland to the state of “Miracle of Asia”.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa was scheduled to deliver a special lecture to the students of the Oxford University on the 2nd December at invitation of the University.
