Religious and community leaders, senior government and public sector officials and representatives from various civilians’ organizations all over the peninsula gathered at the Catholic Press Hall in Jaffna on Thursday (16.12.2010) and extended their well wishes to Commander Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe for being a laureate of Gusi Peace Prize International 2010.

Bishop Jaffna Most Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas Saundranayagam, Bishop of the Church of South India Most Rev. Fr. Dr. D.S. Thiyagaraja, Head of Nallai Adeenam Rev. Sri La Sri Somasundara Paramachariya Swami, Rev. Meegahajandure Sirivimala Thero, Rev. Maulavi A.N.A. Asis, Government Agent Jaffna Mrs. Emelda Sukumar Mayoress Jaffna Mrs. Yogeswari Pathgunarasa and a cross section of distinguished guests delivered speeches appreciating Maj. Gen. Hathurusinghe for his commitment to community welfare and communal harmony in Jaffna.

The felicitation ceremony was sponsored by the DAN TV and civilians’ organizations in Jaffna.
