India Endorses Government’s Effort to Improve Health in Jaffna

In recognition of the government’s effort to upgrade the health condition of Jaffna community, Indian government extending its hand of friendship donated a stock of medical equipment to the Teaching hospital Jaffna on Friday (21.01.2011).

The donation worth about Rs. 120 million included medicine and medical equipment to be used at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

Representing the Indian government, Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Mr. Ashok K. Kanth symbolically handed over the items to hospital authorities in the presence of a distinguished gathering including Hon Minister of Health Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and senior civil administration and health sector.
