Homeless Families to Get Shelters from Army Soon

52 Division in Varani last week commenced the second phase of its
humanitarian programme of constructing shelter for the poor in Vadamarachchi

– Jaffna Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe.

3000 houses for tsunami affected families in the north and the south
using foreign aid and this is the first time it extends support
to the Army’s community work in the north.
with view to inculcating positive attitudes and promoting personality
building among soldiers, 52 Division, under the directives of its
General Officer Commanding Brigadier Anura Sudhasinghe, organized
a lecture by Dr. Lal Fonseka on 2nd February. Dr. Fonseka who is
famous for his inspiring lectures on positive thinking addressed
a group of about 60 officers and 400 other ranks serving in Brigades
and Units in the 52 Division area at the Division Headquarters auditorium.
