After more than three decades, people in Point Pedro, Alvai, Valvettithurai
and surrounding areas enjoyed the ecstasy of Sinhala and Hindu New
Year celebrations organized by the Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J)
in their own area.
Celebrations which commenced on 14th morning with New Year rituals
culminated on 15th night with a grand musical fiesta held at the
Point Pedro Hartley College at which popular local and Indian artistes
entertained their fans with melodies.
