The gaily decorated effigy of Lord Skantha was taken round the ancient temple before it was brought in the new Gopuram (divine tower) amidst a shower of lotus petals thrown from the top the Gopuram as thousands of devotees cried “Aro Hara” in enormous devoutness.

The Kalas Abhishekam of the new Gopuram was also held on the same occasion.
