Jaffna Grade 5 Scholarship Winners Awarded

In recognition of national level achievement of Jaffna Grade 5 students who scored higher marks at this year’s scholarship examination, Security Forces Jaffna (SF-J) organized a function to award them on Monday (19).

With auspices of Commander Security Forces – Jaffna Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, the ceremony was organized by the 11th Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (11 VIR) at their Headquarters in Chavakachcheri.

As an encouragement, one hundred of such students who were successful in the examination were given parcels of books, each to the value of about Rs. 1000/= during the ceremony. Students shared a happy moment with Commander 522 Brigade Brigadier Athula Silva, Commander 11 VIR Lieutenant Colonel Kemaratne and other soldiers who were present.

Hindu and Christian priests, teachers and parents of the students also attended the event.
