Army Donates Medicine to Kayts Hospital

Security Forces Jaffna, extending its humanitarian assistance to Jaffna islands, recently donated a stock of medicine to the Government Base Hospital in the Kayts island.

General Officer Commanding 51 Division Brigadier Piyal Wickramarathna handed over the donation to Medical Superintendent of Kayts Base Hospital Dr. Aruna Punnamoorthy on Thursday (22) during a brief ceremony held at the hospital.

Specialist Doctor Ms Achala Balasooriya and a team of doctors from Kandy sponsored the donation worth over Rs. 200,000/=.

Kayts Divisional Secretary Mr. K. Sri Mohan, Commanding Officer 17th Battalion of Gemunu Watch (17 GW) Lieutenant Colonel Senaka Premawansa, Army Officers and staff members of Kayts hospital were also present.

The donation organized by the Civil Affairs Office of 51 Division in Kopay was coordinated by the17 GW serving in Kayts.
