Division Organizes Community Welfare Projects to Celebrate Army’s

The 51 Division of Kopay organized a series of community welfare
projects in Jaffna on Sunday (09) and Monday (10) to celebrate the
62nd Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army. Officers and other ranks
serving under the 51 Division gave their maximum participation to
all programmes organized with guidance of the General Officer Commanding

On Sunday, the Division provided lunch to 62 aged citizens living
at Holy Cross Home for Adults in Jaffna. Meals for all elderly persons
at the “Home” were prepared by soldiers themselves. They gave parcels
of gift to each inmate of the Holy Cross Home for Adults after providing
Meanwhile, 135 soldiers donated blood to the Jaffna blood bank during
a blood donation campaign organized by the office of Regional Director
Health Services, Jaffna the same day.
The following day, Jaffna Teaching Hospital premises was cleaned
in a massive shramadana campaign attended by over 100 soldiers.
Polythene and rubbish scattered in the yard were removed and gutters
were cleaned during the shramadana conducted since morning to evening
on Monday (10).
At the same time, troops of the 23rd Gajaba Regiment cleaned the
yard of CTC Children’s Home in Jaffna and its buildings were colour
washed. Soldiers distributed lunch and gift parcels to all children
at the Children’s home.
