Jaffna Students, Teachers & Parents Wish Long Life to President on His B’day

School children, teachers and parents in Jaffna joined the millions of other Sri Lankan citizens to wish a Happy Birthday to President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday (18) attending a special religious ceremony at Jaffna Sri Naga Vihara.

The function was organized by the Jaffna Hindu Buddhist Association with guidance of the chief incumbent of the temple Ven. Meegahajandure Gnanarathana Thero.

President of Jaffna Hindu Buddhist Association Mr. Ravi Kumar and its members, people of Hindu, Catholic and Islam faith gathered to the temple premises to attend this special function and wished long life to the President.

Students of Manippay Hindu Vidyalaya, Jaffna Sangavely Vidyalaya, Uduvil Mutthu Vidyalaya, Jaffna Osmaniya Vidyalaya and Puttur Vidyalaya were present on the occasion with their teachers and parents. To mark the president’s birthday, all students were given school uniform cloths and books by the Naga Vihara and the Headquarters Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J).

Governor Northern Province Major General (Retd) G.A. Chandrasiri, Commander SF-J Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe and a number of distinguished guests also attended.
