in Meesali Receive more Donations from Army

52 Division that distributed 600 pairs of spectacles to civilians
and school items to 50 students recently, arranged another donation
of items on Wednesday (30) for civilians in Meesalai area to boost
Civil Affairs Office of the 522 Brigade with coordination of Indian
Hindu Seva Sangam organized this donation for 30 families with low
income. Sewing machines for 9 families, pushbikes for 9 families,
140 backyard chicks for 7 families and 300 m of horse for agriculture
purposes for 5 families were among the items handed over by the
Army at Usan Ramanathan Vidyalaya on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Brigade offered a scholarship to P. Partheepan, a
student of Mirusuvil Government Tamil Mixed school. He will receive
a monthly donation of Rs. 1000/= for a period of 6 months.
ceremony held in this regard at Usan Ramanathan Vidyalaya was attended
by General Officer Commanding 52 Division Brigadier Anura Sudhasinghe,
Commander 522 Brigade Brigadier Athula Silva, President South Indian
Hindu Seva Sangam Mr. Sri Sethumathavan, Sri Lankan International
Coordinator Mr. J. Thiruchelvam, Sri Lankan Coordinator Mr. Ratha
Krishna, principal of Usan Ramanathan Vidyalaya Mr. S .Manoharan
, senior Army officers and family members of recipients.
Hindu Seva Sangam on many early occasions assisted the Army in its
community welfare programmes.
