Sri
Lanka Army is continuously assisting the civil administrative authorities
to develop infrastructure facilities of families newly resettled
in Vadamarachchi.
In addition, troops of the 55 Division serving in the area are working
towards enhancing the economy, education, health of the villagers
and providing them with shelter under the housing project of Security
Forces Headquarters – Jaffna.
Recently
the Civil Affairs Office of the 55 Division organized a one day
medial camp for the people living in Kevil, Vettilaikerni and Kaddaikadu.
Over 100 villagers were treated at the medical camp held at Kevil
Government Tamil Mixed School on 23rd December.
Medical Officer of Health of Point Pedro hospital Dr. G. Senthuran
and Dr. S. Vasuthevan assisted by the Commanding Officer of the
4th Sri Lanka Medical Corps of Palaly Lieutenant Colonel H. Amadoru
and Medical Officer of the 55 Division Lieutenant N.G.C. Priyashantha
conducted the programme.
On
instruction of General Officer Commanding 55 Division Brigadier
Ruwan Kulathunge, Civil Affairs Officer of the Division Lieutenant
Colonel C.P.J.N. De Silva coordinated the medical camp.
