Flour Mills (Pvt) Ltd is to introduce its products to the Jaffna
Peninsula making opportunity for the public to buy quality flour
products such as household flour, Atta flour, whole meal flour and
semolina in near future.
Preliminary
arrangements for the launch were discussed at the Regional Dealer
Convention at Tilko Jaffna City Hotel on Saturday the 21st January
2012. Commander Security Forces - Jaffna Major General Mahninda
Hathurusinghe, Government Agent Jaffna Mrs. Emelda Sukumar, Commodore
Piyal De Silva and former municipal commissioner Mr. Sivagnanam
participated in the event as Guest of Honour.
The Company through its launch in Jaffna believes
that it will help improve the lifestyle of the people in the Region
not only by providing them with wheat flour of premium quality
but also creating employment opportunities and thereby improving
the economy of the Jaffna Peninsula.

Mills (Pvt) Ltd is a flagship project of the Sri Lankan Government’s
Board of Investment (BOI) aiming to broad-base the flour production
industry. Serendib Flour Mills (Pvt) Ltd is a joint venture with
Al-Ghurair Foods and Emirates Trading Agency of Dubai, with an
investment of US $ 56 Million.
