Army Fulfills Urgent Need of Blood at Jaffna Teaching Hospital

At the request of Jaffna Teaching Hospital Authority, Security Forces - Jaffna organized a blood donation camp to fulfill the requirement of the hospital Blood Bank on Friday (02).

The blood donation was organized by the 23rd Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, serving under the 512 Brigade Ariyalai, at a time the Jaffna blood Bank ran short of blood required by the patients waiting to undergo urgent surgeries.

Soldiers of the 51 Division and Police officials of the Jaffna station donate 332 pints of blood to the Blood Bank on Friday.


Deputy Director of Jaffna Teaching Hospital Dr. Sri Bhavaraja, Commander 511 Brigaded Colonel Wijendra Goonathilake, Commander 512 Brigade Colonel Ajith Pallawala, doctors, nurses and senior officers of the 51Division were present.
