Com North the Chief Guest of 3rd Day Jaffna “Wesak Zone”

[2012-05-08 10:42:38]

Commander Northern Naval Area Rear Admiral Ravi Wijegunawardane declared open the “Wesak Zone 2012” as it continued to the 3rd Day on Monday (07) in front of the Jaffna Public Library.

A long queue of civilians, as usual, was seen at the entrance of the model Hell (Narakam). Parents were keen to show attractive lanterns and illuminations along the street to their small children.

Youths in their peer groups were interested in watching the Narakam and also enjoying meals at Dansala. Students of three schools who joined soldiers to sing Wesak Bhakthi Gee expressed their delight with the Commander SF-J for getting an opportunity to take part in the event.

Troops of the 55 Division had catered over 9500 people by Monday (07) at their rice Dansala.

The Wesak Zone extended by two more days will end on Tuesday (08).
