New
two storied Headquarters Complex of Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J)
was commissioned at auspicious time on Thursday (14) morning with
attendance of Commander, senior officers, officers and other ranks
serving at SF-J.
Commander
SF-J Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe entered the new office
complex first unveiling the plaque and then cutting the silver
ribbon amidst Seth Pirith chanting by Ven. Balawathgoda
Abeytissa Thero of Sri Naga Vihara. The event was followed by
lighting of traditional coconut oil lamp.
The new Headquarters
Complex constructed with alluring architecture came up in the
place where the former Headquarters of the SF-J, which rendered
a yeoman service as the centre of command in the Northern part
of the country for many years.
Security Forces
– Jaffna is presently giving its maximum contribution to the government’s
development projects in Jaffna while ensuring security of the
peninsula and its citizens.
Since the
end of the war, Army troops serving in Jaffna has launched a number
of welfare projects for school children and civilians of Jaffna
with a view to uplifting their living standard.
