Rugger Training Camp for Students & Teachers

Civil Affairs and Public Relations Office of Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J) recently organized a rugby training camp for Jaffna school teachers and students.

This was organized with intention popularizing the sport in the peninsula and to teach techniques of the play to enthusiasts. Nearly 120 students and 23 teachers of leading schools in Jaffna attended the training programme held on 14th and 15th at Durayappa ground. A separate session was organized at St. Anthony’s ground in Kayts on 16th for students and teachers in islands.

The programme was conducted by National coach of Sri Lanka Rugger Control Board Mr. Sanath Martin and Committee Manager of Rugger Development Coaches of Japan Mr. Takasi Obara.

Jaffna coaches also joined the national and Japanese coaches to train players.
