Over 300 Civilians Attend Aliyavalai Medical Camp

Hundreds of civilians at Aliyavalai in 55 Divivsion area who are remote from access to sufficient medical facilities attended a medial camp oganized by the 553 Brigade at Aliyavalai Ceylon Catholic Tamil Mixed School on 5th August.

On guidance of General Officer Commanding 55 Division Brigadier Ajith Wijesinghe and Commander 553 Brigade Vijitha Subasinghe, officers and other ranks of 19th Sri Lanka National Guard (19 SLNG) coordinated this medical camp.

Medical Officer of the 55 Division Lieutenant D.W.R. Hirantha, Dr. S.Vinothan, Dr. Ruvanda Senanayake, Pharmasist T. Prasath and Pharmasist S.M. Bandara of Point Pedro hospital conducted the medical camp.

Nearly 175 women, 125 men and a large number of children who arrived in the location were checked and given medicine and medical advices. This one day medical camp was a blessing to hundreds of villagers who lack opportuity to get medical facilities due to absence of a rural hospital or a dispensary in their village.

Army offered snacks and tea to all who attended the medical camp.
