Students Injured in Road Accident Admitted to Hospital

Nineteen school children sustained injuries when the bus they were travelling in toppled on the A-9 at Mullaiady close to Pallai town on Saturday (15) morning. Children from Kaithady were on a special journey to Mullaithivu when they met with this accident which caused serious injuries to seven.

Colonel Deepal Wanniarachchi, Commander 552 Brigade having heard of the incident sent the Brigade ambulance and troops to the scene and made hasty arrangements to evacuate the seriously injured students to Kailinochchi Government Base hospital. Others with minor injuries were admitted to Pallai government hospital.

Soldiers of the 23rd Gemunu Watch serving in the area took the injured to hospitals.
