Army Donates Cows to Two Needy Families

Four milk cows which were saved from being slaughtered were brought to Jaffna with intervention of Commander Security Forces Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe and handed over to two poor families as a helping hand to boost their economy.

Cattle worth of about Rs. 160,000/= were brought from the South and were given to Mr. Puthapullai Annamalai of Thirunelvely and Mr. Panchalingam Chanthaseelan of Urelu by the Commander 511 Brigade Colonel Wijendra Goonatilake on Saturday, October 30th.

Security Forces Jaffna has earlier distributed a large number of milk cows among poor families in its livelihood development project for needy families in Jaffna. A group of Jaffna farmers were sent to Seepukulama Government farm in Anuradhapura for training on cattle rearing and animal husbandry.
