security and day-to-day life in Jaffna, a delegation from German
Federal Ministry of Development Cooperation, during their visit
to Jaffna, met senior officers of Security Forces Jaffna (SF-J)
to get an update on the present situation in Jaffna on Monday,
November 5th evening.
headed by Head of Division from South-Asia Federal Ministry for
Development Cooperation Dr. Thomas Helfen comprised Head of Division
from South-Asia Federal Foreign Office Guenter Josef Rauer, Head
of Division from South-Asia GIZ Mrs. Sandra Sehenke and Director
South Asia, Afghanistan and Pakistan KfW Bank (development Bank)
Mrs. Claudia Aroe. They arrived in Jaffna to review the progress
of bilateral development projects implemented by GIZ and KfW in
General Staff, Headquarters SF-J Brigadier Sumith Atapattu briefed
them about Army’s role in post war Jaffna assisting people and
ex-LTTE combatants to improve their economy, health and education
through various community-based welfare projects while playing
a major role in government-augmented development programmes in
projects were commended by the delegation and expressed their
thanks for updating them on Jaffna’s present situation.
Commanding 55 Division Brigadier B.H.M.A Wijesinghe and a few
officers were present on the occasion.
