Rugger Coaching Camp Organized for Jaffna School Players

Security Forces Jaffna (SF-J) in collaboration with “Sabaragamuwa Stallions” Sports Club conducted a Rugger coaching camp for Jaffna students on Saturday, November 17th at Durayappah Stadium.

The training camp came to Jaffna as a the result of the request made by the Commander SF-J Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe from the Sabaragamuwa Stallions in order to improve the standard of the sport and with hope to bring Jaffna budding players to national level.

Seventy six male and female students from Manippay Hindu College, Jaffna Central College, Jaffna St. Patrick’s College, Kayts St. Anthony’s College, Kolombuthurai St. John’s College, Mathagal St. Joseph’s Girls’ College and Chavakachcheri Hindu College participated in the one day workshop conducted by Mr. A Roniman, Mr. Mathanruban, Mr. R. Subiraj, Mr. V.Thineah, Mr. J. Thanis, Mr. J. Thilakshan and Mr. S. Uthayan.

Inauguration ceremony was attended by Commander SF-J Maj. Gen. Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander 512 Brigade Colonel Ajith Pallawala, Director Sabaragamuwa Stallions Mr. Varuna de Silva, Ms. Varuni Vanderpoorten and Mr. F. A. Amith.

Commanding Officer 23rd Gajaba Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Aruna Wijekoon coordinated the coaching camp.
