Progress of CIMIC Activities of 511 Brigade Reviewed

Progress of community welfare and Civil Military Coordination (CIMIC) activities so far carried out by the 511 Brigade for the people in its area was reviewed at a meeting held between military and civil administrative authorities on 30th November 2012 at J / Urumpirai Hindu College auditorium.

Importance of maintaining healthy civil-military relations through such projects was highlighted at the meeting attended by General Officer Commanding 51 Division Brigadier Chandana Gunawardane, Divisional Secretaries of Kopay, Nallur, Santhilippay and Thelippalai ,Commander 511 Brigade Colonel Wijendra Goonathilake, Civil Affairs Officer 51 Division Lieutenant Colonel Rohan de Silva, senior military officers, Grama Niladharies and community leaders in those areas.

The first meeting of this nature was organized by the 513 Brigade in Uduvil about three weeks back.
