521 Brigade & DAN TV Jointly Organize New Year Festival

St. Anthony’s players of Pasiyur trounced the Gurunagar Pathumins at football finals played on 20th April at Nelliady Central College ground and won a prize of Rs. 50000/=. Gurunagar Pathumins, the runners up won Rs. 35000/=. Winners were awarded during the grand musical show organized on 20th evening at Nelliady Central College ground with attendance of a massive crowd of spectators.

The evening function marked the culmination of the New Year festival organized for civilians by the 521 Brigade of Point Pedro in collaboration with DAN Cable TV based at Kokkuvil.

Commander Security Forces Jaffna Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Chairman DAN Cable TV Mr. S.S. Kuhanathan who sponsored the New Year festival and the musical show and a few other distinguished guests gave away prizes to winners.

General Officer Commanding 52 Division Briadier Anura Sudasinghe, Commander 521 Brigade Colonel Tikiri Dissanayake, Divisional Secretaries Mr. S. Sivasri and Mr. R. T. Jeyayaseelan and Director of Education Northern Province Mr. N. Saththiyaseelan were also present.
