Maravanpulo Sakalakala Valli Vidyalaya Gets Computer from Army

Security Forces Jaffna (SF-J) has hitherto launched many projects to uplift school education in Jaffna under its Civil-Military Coordination (CIMIC) programs with auspices of Commander SF-J Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe.

In one more such assistance which helps improve IT knowledge of Students of Maravanpulo Sakalakala Valli vidyalaya of Navatkuli, the 18th Gemunu Watch (18 GW) commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Sampath Bulathgama serving in Navatkuly area donated a computer with all its accessories to the school.

The donation was handed over to the school on 9th May by the General Officer Commanding 52 Division Brigadier Anura Sudhasinghe in the presence of Commander 523 Brigade Brigadier Athula Marasinghe, principal of the school Mr. Y. Jeyakanthan and Deputy Director of Education Chavakachcheri Zone Mr. S. Suntharasivam. Students were given exercise books too on the same occasion.

Prior to the function held at Sakalakala Valli vidyalaya Martin Hall of in this regard, 18 GW soldiers cleaned the surrounding and colour washed the buildings of the school.

With coordination of the Second in Command of the Battalion Major G.D.T. Kumara, Mr. Thilak Kiriella, founder of Kiriella Foundation sponsored the donation.
