on Dhamma, meditation sessions and timely lectures on stress management,
positive thinking, music therapy as a remedy to youth unrest and
role of the soldier as a responsible member in his own family.
Forces – Jaffna regularly educate its soldiers on moral and spiritual
development through various religious programmes and lectures.
Coinciding with the 2600th Sri Sambuddhatwa Jayanthi celebration,
nearly 1500 Jaffna soldiers including the incumbent SF-J Commander
observed Sil in 2011 at the same premises. Such programmes
which help inculcate moral qualities like compassion, love and
affection and good interpersonal relationship have had a great
impact on soldiers in performing their duties and behaving with
civilians during various social obligations.
