cows including one calf saved from being slaughtered in the South
were handed over to eight low income families in Manippay by the
Commander Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Mahinda
Hathurusinghe on the Vesak Full Moon day (24) during a function
held at Marathady pullayar temple.
One cow was
donated to the Marathadypullayar temple while others were given
to Mr. K. Sorupan of Vaddukkoddai, Mr. R. Rjasekaran of Chullipuram,
Mr. M. Mahinthan of Navali North, V. Ragurupan of Annaikottai,
Mr. B. Subaskaran of Uduvil West, Mr. G. Sivakumar of Kokuvil,
Mr. T. Thanabalasingham of Santhilippay and Mrs. R.Kanakeshvari
rescued by Mr. Sunil Vithanage, Managing Director Cherrys Biscuits
(Pvt) Ltd. were brought to Jaffna with personal intervention of
the SF-J Commander for the purpose of distributing them among
families with low income to strengthen their economy.
SF-J has so far distributed 63 cattle among poor farming families.
