Mulliyan Amman Temple Organizes a Special Pooja to Bless the Army

Priests of the Unavakkai Kannagi Amman Temple at Mulliayan organized a special Asirvada Pooja (blessing ceremony) on Monday (24) to bless the Army to admirer the support extended by the soldiers to make the annual festival of the temple a success. Annual Pooja commenced on 17th this month and continued for 7 days.

Before the festival started, on directives of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 55 Division Brigadier Ajith Wijesinghe, troops of the 19th Sri Lanka National Guard of Aliyavalai cleaned the temple site. Troops continued to assist the devotees providing basic facilities needed during the festival.

This special Pooja organized for the Army was attended by the GOC, Civil Affairs Officer, Commanding Officers and a large crowd villagers on Monday. Unavakkai Kannagi Amman Temple at Mulliayan is a religious place highly venerated by Hindus in Veththilaikerny area.
