52 Division Organizes Christmas Carols in Two Different Places

Troops of 1 Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (1 VIR) and 22 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (22 SLNG) of the 521 Brigade under the 52 Division organized two different Christmas Carols in the St. Francis Xavier Church, Alvai (North) and in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Chunnakam on 27th December 2016.

Major General Anura Wanniarachchi, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 55 Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the Carol at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Chunnakam. Christmas message conveyed by Rev. Fr. Jeyakumr, St Joseph Church Jaffna.

The Carols were conducted in Tamil, English and Sinhala languages, sung by choirs of Army soldiers and School students in Jaffna Peninsula. They performed both traditional and modern Carols as well as much loved Christmas songs. The Carols included a sing a long session with the congregation and Santa Claus was in attendance for the Children.

Religious dignitaries, well-wishers, Senior Officers, Officers, soldiers and large number of civilians truly typifying the spirit of the season.

At the conclusion of the Carols, choirs of School Students were presented with gifts from the Chief Guest and little children were presented with gifts by Santa Claus.
