New Tube Wells Constructed to Provide Drinking Water to Kachchai and Navatkuli Civilians

On the guidance of Major General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander SF (J), troops of 4th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (4 VIR) and 12th Battalion the Gamunu Watch (12GW) of 523 Brigade have installed a public tube wells in a location near to Kachchai Road, and at the premises of Aiyanagar Kovil, Navatkuli with the funds of Mrs. Engineer Pubudu Zoysa.

New Tube Wells were constructed considering the humanitarian need for supply of drinking water to South Meesale and Navatkuli, rural villages in Jaffna.

The new tube wells which were set up with the support of civilians and Soldiers are able to provide drinking water to many drought-hit families in and around the location.

The wells were recently commissioned during a simple ceremony attended by the Commanding Officer 4 VIR, Officers, Soldiers and a group of civilians.

The tube wells cost Rs 70,000.00 and it was installed by the Pillaiyar Tube Well Construction Ltd.
