Army - Healthy Nation" programme was organized by the Headquarters
Security Force (Jaffna) – HQ SF (J) in liaison with 4th Battalion
Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps at the auditorium of HQ SF (J) on 05th
January 2017, with the purpose of educating Army personnel on non-communicable
"Healthy Army - Healthy Nation" programme was initiated
by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General AWJC De Silva under
the coordination of the Directorate of Army Medical Services (DAMS).
Brigadier ASM Wijewardana educated the audience about the "Healthy
Army - Healthy Nation" programme and Colonel RMM Monaragala
(Psychiatrist) of Army Hospital Colombo and Lieutenant ACK Udugama
conducted lectures during the progarmme.
Dr. Brigadier ASM Wijewardana highly appreciated the efforts taken
by HQ SF (J) in organizing such an event to educate military personnel
on non-communicable diseases, the most important topic in the present

are one of the common problems in the military, which is directly
connected to the development of the country.

the 2/3 of annual deaths in the country are due to non-communicable
