Handing Over the Deeds of 54 Acres of Land to Their Right Owners in Jaffna.

Approximately 54 acres of land with Myliddy fishing harbour in Tellippalai Divisional Secretariat area, along Myliddy costal belt, was handed over to the right owners by the Commander Security Force Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, at a ceremony held on 3rd July 2017.

The ceremony was organized by the Headquarters, Security Force - Jaffna in consultation with the Ministry of Defence. The process of releasing the lands was expedited in accordance with the policy on Resettlement of IDPs as a matter of priority. This is another initiative taken by the Sri Lanka Army towards building reconciliation whilst addressing the issues of civilians in Jaffna.

The Jaffna District Secretary, N Vethanayahan, Commander Security Force Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, Government Officials and Senior Military Officers participated in the occasion.

Around 500 civilians including fishermen in the area participated in above mentioned event of releasing the Myliddy Harbor and the coastal area.
