Awareness Programme on 'HIV & AIDS' at Headquarters Security Force Jaffna

An awareness programme on 'HIV/AIDS' was conducted by Dr. Dilmini Mendis, Venereology Consultant, Teaching Hospital, Jaffna for Army personnel serving in Jaffna on 14 June 2017 at the auditorium of Headquarters Security Force, Jaffna.

The workshop was organized by 4 Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps on the direction of Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, Commander Security Force (Jaffna) with the aim of educating military personnel on 'Sexually Transmitted Diseases' and AIDS.

The programme focused on giving proper care and treatment to infected people, and also about preventive measures.

Furthermore, HIV Rapid Blood Tests also were conducted for all the participants with the support of Dr. Tharini Gurukaran MOIC and staff members of Venereal Disease Unit, Teaching Hospital, Jaffna at the end of the day's programme. More than 300 Army personnel participated in this awareness programme.
