Deserving Families Gifted with Houses

Two deserving homeless families from Katkolam and Alwai areas in Jaffna were gifted with houses during an occasion held on 2nd January 2019. Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi initiated the meritorious act on funds received from Venerable Thalagala Sumanarathana Thero and a donor named Mr Rod Thambiah from Australia.

The manpower was provided by the 16th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 4th Battalion of the Sinha Regiment, under the supervision of 551 Brigade.

The newly built houses were handed over to the families by Commander Security Force - Jaffna amidst the presence of General Officer Commanding 55 Division, Divisional Secretary of Vadamarachchi (North), Mr Alvai Pillai Sri, Grama Seva Officials, Army Personnel and a number of civilians.
