Army and Navy Join Hands to Clean Jaffna Lagoon

Another environment conservation programme along the Jaffna lagoon in Gurunagar was initiated by 51 Division on the instruction and directions of the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General RuwanWanigasooriya on Tuesday, 03 December 2019. Army troops conducted the conservation and cleaning programme with the support of Sri Lanka Navy, Volunteer Organizations and Gurunagar Fishing Development Society. Over one thousand personnel including troops took part in the programme which received accolades of the public.

The Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Government Agent - Jaffna Mr. N Vethanayahan, General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Officials from Divisional Secretariat of Jaffna and Residents were present at the conservation programme.
