Division Completes 15th Year of Service; Birthday Marked with public

The 51 Division of the Sri Lanka Army celebrated its 15th anniversary
on 25th August giving priority to religious and civic-oriented activities
with guidance of General Officer Commanding of the Division Major
General Janaka Walgama.
and other ranks attached to the 51 Division first attended Religious
observances organized to get blessing of the noble Triple Gem and
other major religious faiths.
Affairs Coordination offices of the Division Headquarters had arranged
a blood donation campaign at the Teaching Hospital Jaffna at which
nearly 100 Army personnel volunteered to donate blood for patients
waiting to undergo urgent surgeries.

Hathurusinghe who accommodated the requests made by the Director
Jaffna Teaching hospital from, the 51 Division on many early occasions
arranged blood donation camps to save the lives of patients in critical
addition, officers and other ranks took part in a Sramadana campaign
throughout the day to clean the hospital premises with coordination
of hospital staff.
51 Division presently located in Jaffna city performed a pivotal
operational role for the last 15 years to protect Jaffna against
terrorism and currently the Division is supporting the Police to
maintain law and order.
