Breaking the Ice; Jaffna University Students Meet SF Commander

A special meeting was held between the Commander Security Forces-Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe and representatives of “Students’ Organization for Justice” on Sunday (25.04.2010) morning at Civil Affairs Office in Jaffna town.

Students from the Faculties of Law and Arts of Jaffna University and the Higher Education Institute at Gurunagar, during meeting, freely aired their views on matters pertaining to present situation of the student fraternity in the peninsula.

SF-Commander acceding to the request of students for a meeting with him, gave prompt solutions to some of the problems during the meeting itself and promised that necessary instructions would be passed to respective military authorities soon to solve remaining security issues while assuring proper coordination with civil administration office.

Brigadier General Staff SF-J Brig. B.C.J.A.F. Rodrigo and Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs, Jaffna Brig. D.M.G.B. Alikewela were also present.

“Students’ Organization for Justice” is an independent organization functioning in the Jaffna University.
